We chose a mix of women.in different stages of their careers for our 2021 Role Models. We chose 2 of our own who started very young (3rd and 2nd grade)– Katie Carmody (General Motors) and Madison Ma (Qualcomm). We included an interview with Heather-Wishart Smith, SVP, Technology & Innovation, at Jacobs, a large global technology solutions firm. Women in infrastructure are very rare – we asked Jean Ciullo, VP Enterprise Technical Support, Charter Communications to share her story. To show the entrepreneurial side of engineering we asked Diana Perkins to join us – her start-up, includesign, invented a product to help wheelchair users. This summer at our 17th year of day camp, we started an artificial intelligence cohort – we piloted the work of aiedu.org and are delighted to include Cristina Nowak, who drew us into their mission of providing AI education to grades 9-12, and Ora Tanner, founder, and developer of the program.
